Green Drinks is an International organization. Nearly every state has Green Drinks chapters
and now there's one in Bigfork. It's a mixture of people with like minded interests who meet
weekly/monthly and discuss the environment and sustainable "Green" issues.

If you're advocate it's a great way of networking with people you know and also for making new
contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there's always a different crowd, making
Green Drinks an organic, self-organizing network.

These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment,
made friends, developed new ideas and done deals. The primary discussion for the Bigfork
Chapter is the
Green Up, Get Moving promotion. We welcome people who enjoy cycling,
paddling, skiing, hiking, social networking and who think the planet may be worth preserving.

It's also a great way to connect with the Flathead community especially if you're new to the
area or just visiting. It's sponsored by Alternatives Magazine and
Green Up, Get Moving, a
special promotion of the Magazine.

An informal happy hour is held every Friday from 6 - 8 pm at the Swan River Inn, 360 Grand
Avenue, Bigfork. This is the time and place to meet, greet and get on the mailing list, pickup a
calendar of events and sponsors information/samples etc. Snacks will be served, sometimes
music and other entertainment will be featured on selected dates. So bring your friends and
start your weekend GREEN! For further information call 406-407-2773. The following are a few
suggestions that we're working on for future events.

  • Open mic and jam sessions
  • Film screenings
  • Guest speakers
  • Dance lessons
  • Wine, beer and chocolate tastings.
  • Weekend outdoor activities, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter and
mountain biking, hiking and kayaking in the spring summer and fall.

Be sure to get on the email mailing list to receive our weekly updates and other information.
PLUS, if any unforeseen situations arise, or a scheduling conflicts email is the only efficient
way to notify guests.  We also welcome your feedback, suggestions and comments.
