Welcome to Alternatives Magazine BioFest Tour 2011!
The inspiration to promote the BioFest Tour came about after a recent survey, conducted by National Geographic, found that American consumers ranked DEAD LAST as consumers of renewable energy, transportation, food consumption, and everyday consumer goods, and NUMBER ONE in obesity and related diseases of the seventeen industrialized countries surveyed.

About the Tour The BioFest Tour combines the green movement with outdoor fitness sports to help bring awareness to the importance of maintaining a healthy environment and body. It will serve as a platform to help promote zero-waste, use renewable energy sources, encourage alternative transportation, and maintain a sustainable healthy lifestyle. It's also about having fun!
- The Magazine will serve as the primary event/host sponsor, co-sponsor or media/vendor in over 15 events. A point of
distribution and information booth will be maintained to distribute literature, product samples and in some cases provide demos and sell products on behalf of sponsors.
- If suitable locations, conditions and facilities exist and is in compliance with event organizers plans, a Cross-Country/Snowshoe
Team Relay event (winter events) and a Biyaking Scramble (bike and kayak summer events) will be held during each event. All dates and locations are subject to change or cancellation. Complete details and updates for each event will be available in the website and the bi-weekly e-newsletters.

What is Biyaking? Nearly everybody who is into biking is also into some form of paddle sports and vice-versa. Combine the two and it's Biyaking. It's not new, but we've adopted the concept and carried the promotion to another level by forming the Biyaking Association and sub-titled it as the "sport of the green movement." Both are environmentally friendly -- naturally. No noise, no pollution, a small carbon footprint, plus many parts are recyclable and the combined fitness benefits are unsurpassed.
What is a Scramble? A Biyak Scramble may include a sprint (or walk) to the start line, and require a variety of basic mechanical and technical maneuvers before taking off, such as re-installing bike wheels, airing up tires, or getting into kayak gear and paddling backwards to the start line. Each race would present it's own set of challenges based on location and other circumstances.
In keeping with the spirit of "zero-waste" every effort will be made to avoid the use of any disposable products, even recyclable products, which include paper entry forms, sponsorship proposals, brochures and any other paper, ink and postage communications. Email, telephone and social event gatherings will be used as primary means of communication.
Sponsorship Levels and Benefits
The sponsorship program is an all encompassing marketing package. It utilizes all the instant paperless E marketing media including social media (facebook, twitter), website presence, digital publication, email newsletters and of course, event onsite exposure. Rates and benefits are based on an annual schedule.
PLEASE NOTE: Sponsors are NOT required to travel to each event and set up their own displays. We do that for you. It's part of the package. We represent your company, your product or services. We distribute your literature, product samples, etc. through the Green reusable cloth "Goodie Bag" system. In some cases, we demo products and sometimes sell it. We can also customize a plan just for you and your business and negotiate on an individual basis.
