    Ollie Johnson

A funeral service for Ollie Johnson was held on Monday, July 28, 2008 at Plentywood
Lutheran Church.   Pastor Ron Martin-Dent will officiated and burial was at
Plentywood Memorial Cemetery.  A luncheon was served at the church, following
interment.   Ollie, 99, of Plentywood, Montana and most recently of Wolf Point,
Montana passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.

Ollie was born September 30, 1908 in Froid, Montana, a daughter of Ole and
Ingeborg (Medalen) Johnson.  She attended school in Redstone and Medicine Lake
and later attended Minot Business College.    She worked at Kramer’s Café in
Flaxville, Montana, was a receptionist for Dr. Power in Minot for three years and also
was a clerk at Woodwards in Plentywood.     She worked for some time at Amundsen’
s Jewelry in Plentywood and then clerked at Johnston’s Drug for eight years.  Ollie
worked at the Sheridan County Court House for twenty years, beginning in the
Assessor’s Office and moving to the Cler and Recorder’s Office, retiring in the mid
70's.    After retirement, she lived in Billings, Montana for several years and later
returned to Wolf Point where she helped take care of her great-nephew Justin while
her niece Joan continued to teach in the Wolf Point Schools.

She was a member of the Plentywood Lutheran Church;  taught Sunday School for several years and sang in the choir.

Ollie had a special talent for composing poetry and at 99 years of age was still able to recite numerous poems from her childhood
years.    She was very close to her family and always put others needs ahead of her own.  She willingly gave of her time to care for family
members.  No matter how bad the situation was, Ollie always knew what to do and kept an encouraging, positive attitude which
comforted all those around her.  Her gumption and determination got her through very difficult times in her own life.

Ollie loved traveling, reading, poetry, music, singing, dancing, yard work,  card playing and games.  She was an excellent cook and
enjoyed entertaining  her family and friends.

Her family will always lovingly  remember her for her caring, gentle ways.  We were truly blessed to have had her in our lives, and we will
miss her very much.

Ollie is survived by her nieces Joan Watson and husband Byron of Wolf Point, Montana; Leona Snyder and husband Lowell of
Plentywood, Montana; a nephew Arno Johnson and wife Joyce of Yakima, Washington; great nephews and nieces:   Justin Ryan Watson,
Greg and Derl Fellon, Nadine O’Toole, Shawn and Lila Johnson and their mother Sandy Johnson.    Also surviving is a sister-in-law,
Helen Johnson of Plentywood. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Elmer and Gerhard Johnson,
a sister Ruth Garrick, an infant sister and a sister-in-law Luella Johnson.

Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood is in charge of arrangements.
