- David Mann
PLENTYWOOD~ Memorial Mass will be conducted 2:00PM Saturday September 13, 2008 at
St. Joesphs Catholic Church in Plentywood for David G. Mann. A Vigil Service will be
conducted Friday evening 7:00PM at the Fulkerson Funeral home in Plentywood. Committal
services will take place at a later date.
- David George Mann was born February 6, 1930 in Plentywood to Archie & Agnes (Biltman)
Mann. Neighbors helped David’s father to dig through the snow drifts at the family farm so
Agnes could make it to the Plentywood Hospital with David arriving shortly thereafter.
David graduated from Plentywood High School in 1949 and attended college at Bozeman,
until returning home to take over the family farm in 1950. He married Betty Bykonen on
October 20, 1956 in Plentywood. To this union David & Betty brought into their family fold a
little boy named Shannon and later a little girl named Candase.
David was a devoted member of St. Josephs Catholic church serving as president of the
parish council. David served as Grand Knight of the Plentywood council of the Knights of
Columbus for two terms. He also served as a district deputy at the state level 2613 as state
warden for the Knights of Columbus.
He chaired the Senior Citizens day for three years, was a master sergeant in the National Guard for twelve years; a member of
Toastmasters, the Sheridan Snow Travelers Club, Saddle Club, Tractor Club, and Golf Club. David loved rock concerts! His family
remembered the “Far Out” trips to Canada and the U.S. to attend concerts for his favorite groups such as KISS and Ted Nugent. David’s
family now is very appreciative of their father’s obsession with video recording every event that occurred with their family. Due to failing
health Betty and David moved to Plentywood in February of 2008. David died on September 8, 2008 at the Sheridan Nursing Home after
a short illness.
David’s parents precede him in death along with his sister Vernita Nelson.
He is survived by his devoted loving wife of 51 years Betty Mann of Plentywood. His son and daughter-in-law Shannon & Robin Mann of
Covington, WA; his daughter Candase Gange of Belegrade; his grandchildren Kara, Nicole, Ryan, Misty and Justin. Also surviving are
his two great grandchildren Raeanne and Sidney; his sister Helen Ardmore of Oklahoma and numerous extended family.
Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood has charge of arrangements.
