Robert  Hardy

Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Hardy will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday. Pastor Keith Stephan
will officiate at the service at the First Baptist Church in Plentywood, with interment in Redstone
Cemetery. Bob's grandchildren will serve as casketbearers; David Wivholm and Greg Johnson
will be ushers, and all of Bob's friends and family are regarded as Honorary Bearers. Bob, 84,
died Tuesday morning at Sheridan Memorial Hospital in Plentywood; he suffered a stroke early
Sunday morning.

One of six children of Alfred E. and Hildegaard (Hergott) Hardy, Bob was born at Priest River,
Idaho January 15, 1924 and raised on the family farm south of Redstone and Flaxville. He
participated in the Drum & Bugle Corps (as a drum major) in high school; and also played the
mouth organ and violin in the family band. Bob graduated from Redstone High School. He always
had a very high mechanical aptitude: one memorable story was his completely reassembling a
pocket watch, from a pile of parts to a working timepiece within 5 minutes! After graduation,  Bob
went to Great Falls to work at an implement dealership, and also trained as a refrigeration
serviceman. He eventually moved back to the Flaxville community where he farmed  and operated
the movie theater until he moved to Plentywood.
He married Norma Milford at Regina, Saskatchewan April 7, 1951; he continued to farm with his family in southern Saskatchewan until
retirement; and maintained refrigeration and heating equipment throughout the area for many years. He and Norma spent winters at
Apache Junction, Arizona for some time; but Plentywood has always remained "home." Bob and Norma attended the Baptist Church.

Bob is survived by his wife, Norma, of Plentywood; by three daughters: Barbara Hardy and her companion Greg Johnson, of Sunnyvale,
California; Gail Bleck, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Brenda Wivholm and her husband David, of Merritt Island, Florida. He is also
survived by seven grandchildren: Aaron, Justin, Nathan, and Jeremy Olson; and Brandon, Brooke, and Brittany Wivholm;  by four
great-grandchildren; and by three sisters and a brother: Ramona Hertz and Her husband Jake, Joan Robinson and her husband, Gene;
both of Plentywood; Marge Brooks and her husband Chet, of Scobey; and Al Hardy and his wife Mary Jo, of Billings. Numerous nephews
and nieces also survive. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roger.

Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood has charge of arrangements.
