Paul was born January 27, 1920 at Eastman, Wisconsin, the son of Anthony William and
Mathilda (Maha) Kavon. He attended school in Eastman and Seneca, Wisconsin, then entered
the U.S. Navy, serving for 6 ½ years. He was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor, 12 other
naval engagements, and the sinking of the USS Helena.

After he was discharged from the Navy, he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a
railway mail clerk. He headquartered out of Chicago, and traveled west,  working in the
Chicago Post Office and the St. Paul Post Office.

On September 14, 1948 he married Anna Stacia Hammel, at New Albion, Iowa.

In 1953 he resigned his commission with the postal service, and came west to farm, first  for his uncle,  Joe Kavon, north of Plentywood,
and later purchased the farm, and continued to farm until he retired in 1980. After retirement he enjoyed planting and caring for trees on
the farm; and often marveled at how they have thrived over the years since.

Paul is survived by his four sons:  Michael P. Kavon and his wife Karin of Plentywood and their two boys Kevin and Karl, Howard P. Kavon
of Plentywood, Richard R. Kavon and his wife Roberta of Plentywood and their children Rachelle and Keith, and Arthur L. Kavon, of Boise,
Idaho.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Stacia, on September 8, 2006; by three brothers: Anthony (“Tony”) W. Kavon, of
Plentywood; Martin J. Kavon, and Daniel J. Kavon, both of Wisconsin;  and  by two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Zlabek, of Eastman, Wisconsin
and Mrs.Virginia Dahman, of Prairie DuChien, Wisconsin.

I'm a high school classmate of Art's and my thoughts are with your family at this time.  I know how hard it is to lose a
father.
