May Thon

May Thon of rural Westby passed away November 28, 2007 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital in
Plentywood, MT. Her children are thankful that they were all able to be with her in her last days.

A service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 10:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church
in Westby, MT. Pastor Barb Westhoff will officiate.

May was born on March 27, 1923 in Lignite, ND to F. C. and Ragna (Lee) Falck. She was the
valedictorian of her high school class and attended Minot Teacher's College to become a teacher.
She later worked as a teacher, then at a hotel and as a bank clerk in Minot, ND.

She and Arnold Stenseth were married and had four children, Paul, Rebecca, Miriam, and Arne.
They lived in ND and in Seattle, WA.

She married Orton Thon of Westby on March 7, 1972. They moved to the farm in rural Westby where they lived until Orton passed away in 1995. May
continued to live on the farm until entering assisted living and then the nursing home last fall.

May enjoyed nature, trees, her farm, dogs, deer, and pheasants. She had a lifelong love of travel and flight and earned her pilot's license in the
1950's.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Paul and Tess Stenseth of Pinehurst, NC; daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Ron Lackey of
Rangely, CO; daughter and son-in-law Miriam and Ken Melby of Westby, MT; son Arne Stenseth of Wickenburg, AZ; her 8 grandchildren, Gregory
Stenseth of Tucson, AZ; Bethann Stenseth of Flagstaff, AZ; Christina and Paula Stenseth of Pinehurst, NC; Joshua Lackey of Houston, TX; Shara
Lackey Crow of Fairbanks, AK; Terrance Bjorgen of Westby, MT; Christian Melby of Westby, MT, and her nieces and nephews.

May was preceded in death by her parents F. C. and Ragna (Lee) Falck; brothers Tom Falck, Roy Falck, and Fred Falck; her sister Ida Pollard; and
her husband Orton.

Fulkerson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sheridan Memorial Hospital and Sheridan Memorial Nursing Home for the compassion and fine care that
May received while there.
