Montana Department of Commerce Director Presents Over $2.5 Million in Grants
to Economic Development Projects in Eastern Montana
Three Day Tour to Big Timber, Columbus, Glendive, Wolf Point & Havre
Montana Department of Commerce Director Anthony Preite will present more than $2.5 million dollars in economic development
grants to five projects in eastern Montana. Preite will make stops in Big Timber, Columbus, Glendive, Wolf Point, and Havre during a
three day tour of eastern Montana.
“Montana’s on the move and our economy is strong,” said Governor Brian Schweitzer. “In 2007 Montana garnered an impressive 4.8
percent in economic growth and I am committed to continuing this growth in every corner of this state.”
“The Montana Department of Commerce is at the heart of countless economic development projects,” said Director Preite. “We
strive to support important projects in eastern Montana, and I welcome the opportunity to travel and see firsthand the progress these
projects have made, and the benefits they’re bringing to local communities.”

Sweet Grass County Courthouse, 200 West 1st Street, Big Timber, $151,493 in funds to Sweet Grass County for the
replacement of six bridges in critical condition.
Stillwater County Courthouse, 400 3rd Avenue North, Columbus, $407,500 in funds to Stillwater County for the replacement
of two bridges in critical condition.
Wednesday, April 9
Glendive Senior Citizen Center, Sagebrush Alley, 604 E. Grant Avenue, Glendive over $1.9 million in funds to Action for
Eastern Montana (AEM) for the construction of the new Makoshika Estates senior facility.
Great Northern Development Corporation, 233 Cascade Street, Wolf Point, $51,250 in Small Business Development funds
to the Great Northern Development Corporation/ Wolf Point Small Business Development Center for direct business
assistance.
Thursday, April 10
The Duck Inn, Antique Duck Room, Havre, $51,250 in Small Business Development funds to the Bear Paw Development
Corporation/ Havre Small Business Development Center for direct business assistance.
